Steady Rests

The use of a steady rest will reduce vibration and wood movement, leading to a smoother cut with more control. OneWay offers both a bowl steady and a spindle steady designed to their high standards. They are attached to your lathe bed using a clamp block (included, please specify at the time of order).

The Bowl Steady:

The bowl steady is designed to mount on your side of the lathe to support the final cuts on bowls and platters. It is positioned perpendicular to the rim to safely support the thin walled or flexible edges for delicate final cuts. The low profile does not significantly affect the swing.

The Spindle Steady:

The Spindle Steady is a three-wheeled solution to an age-old problem: whip and chatter when turning long spindles.
The steady mounts on the back of the bed using the included clamp block (please specify). Handles spindles from 1/2" to 3" diameters.
