Traditional Bench Vises by Veritas

Front Vise
The Shoulder Vise is for 'L' shaped vises on Scandanavian-style benches (this is the one Norm Abrams used on his bench from New Yankee Workshop). 1-1/8" Ø screw with single lead Acme thread. 9" capacity, less wooden shoulder thickness.
The Tail Vise Screw is the same construction as the shoulder vise, but without the end guide. 17" clamping capacity, less thickness of the jaws.
The Tail Vise can be used for European jointer's vises with or without a shoulder. Guide plates are 2" wide x 15" long, with an 8" maximum opening less the jaws. Single lead Acme screw is 7/8" Ø.
The Front Vises have rugged double guide rods. The standard vise is 7" x 14-3/4" with a 7/8" Ø screw & 8-1/4" capacity (less jaws). The large vise can be used as either a front or a tail vise on modern style benches. It is 10-1/2" x 21" with a 1-1/8" Ø screw and a 13" maximum capacity. The large vise has an off-set screw to resist racking and skewing.

Veritas Twin-Screw End Vise
Non-racking design for modern end vises employs chain drive mechanism to ensure parallel movement. 12" clamping capacity (less thickness of the jaw) can be increased to the length of your bench plus 12" through the use of bench dogs (see below). Installation instructions included.
