Tool Rests

The standard tool rest is not always the ideal for every situation. We offer a variety of solutions:

Modular Tool Rest Systems From Sorby

This systems allows you to use a single tool post or 'stem', to which a variety of toolrest bars and platforms can be attached. The hardened steel crossbars will not 'ding' like cast iron rests, so you never need to file them.

Posts are available in diameters ranging from 5/8" (mini lathes) through 1-1/8" stems (for older Powermatic 45 and 90 lathes). The length of the post will also vary. The most common is 4", but 6.5" posts are available to fit the Powermatic 3520 and 4224 lathes. Call if you have questions.
